A tremendous diversity of wild plant foods exist throughout the Southwestern U.S. From Tucson to Houston, from Las Vegas to Tucumcari, there are abundant and delicious plants available to those who seek them out. Often, they are growing right under our noses, right in our own backyard. This book serves as a field guide for those exploring their home terrain seeking out the wild flavors available all around them. In the hopes that our collective knowledge base of wild plant foods in the Southwest continues to grow and flourish upon the release of this book, I also hope to inspire a stewardship of the plants through direct participation.
